Baby Passport Photo Requirements

Baby passport photos follow the same core standards as adult photos, with a few infant-specific exceptions. Use this checklist, then upload to generate a compliant result in the same queue as our main landing page.

Core Requirements (Same as Standard)

  • Photo must be recent and in color with a plain white or off-white background.
  • Face should be centered and visible, with no heavy shadows or blur.
  • Photo should match passport dimensions and framing requirements.
  • No filters, strong retouching, or edits that alter appearance.

Infant-Specific Notes

  • Infants can have less strict eye-open expectations than older children.
  • No parent, hand, toy, pacifier, or other object should be visible in frame.
  • Lay the baby on a plain white sheet or use a covered infant seat for clean background.
  • Avoid expression or posture issues by taking multiple shots and selecting the clearest one.

Upload Your Baby Photo

Upload a clear photo of your baby. We will format it to U.S. passport standards and deliver a digital 2x2 photo plus a printable 4x6 sheet.

Common Baby Photo Rejection Reasons

Most rejected baby photos are caused by visible support objects, unclear framing, or weak lighting.

  • Supporting hands or objects are visible in the final image.
  • Background is patterned, dark, or uneven instead of plain and light.
  • Face is partially blocked by clothing, shadows, or motion blur.
  • Framing is too tight or too loose around the head and shoulders.
  • Image quality is low because the photo was taken in dim lighting.

We handle crop, background cleanup, and framing adjustments so your final output is ready for passport submission.
